Job Title AVP, Business Proposition and Enablement, Protection, India (24 month contract in Singapore) Job Description The Role The AVP, Business Proposition and Enablement role is responsible for: Proposition development as prioritised by the India PMLC Lead and prioritise enablement activities across markets and clients in India Product innovation that supports the strategy and growth target in India Leading and providing technical support for risk, pricing, and underwriting perspectives on selected client related requests and internal product development initiatives. You will have deep knowledge on clients’ requirements, internal policies, internal processes, and market trends. You will be the main contact point for Pricing, Underwriting, and Risk teams in relation to technical aspects of new product initiatives. The postholder will also support marketing activities and promoting Pacific Life Re brand by attending client meetings and speaking at conferences on behalf of the Company. You will be responsible for leading a team. Duties Working closely with the line manager and Global Client Solutions Team: Conducting new market, segment and proposition development for India markets to identify growth opportunities beyond those already within our existing plans Develop new products and propositions based on market research, quote activities, and clients’ strategic needs. Manage end-to-end processes including internal teams responsible for technical assessment, risk approvals, and compliance perspectives. Lead communications with internal Pricing and UW teams. Support preparation and presentation of risk papers, including DRMC approval documents. Development of initial stage gates and fail fast criteria Client and other external interactions: Supporting Client Solutions in external meetings and workshops to understand clients’ needs and lead product pitches. Drive interactions with vertical industries to understand trends and to identify new product propositions. Perform regular market research to build library of new product and proposition launches in India. Strategy: Work closely with Clients Solutions team to understand the business strategy to develop business proposition strategy for India. Work closely with technical teams to execute strategy. Develop objectives and key results. Leadership: Support team members through managing workload, exposure to stretching tasks, providing guidance, coaching, and building day-to-day responsibilities. Proactively support team, giving exposure to wider deal strategy, how deals fit into the bigger picture both internally and externally, sharing market knowledge and providing constructive challenge. Essential Qualifications & Experience Knowledge A qualified actuary with at least 10 years of working experience, ideally with Pricing and/or Product Development experience Strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgement and commercial awareness, to produce justifiable and practical business case even where information is sparse or not available Proficiency extracting, manipulating, analysing and drawing conclusions from data. Leadership Skills Experienced in leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team. Ability to establish objectives and build, develop and lead / influence a team towards these objectives Proven track record in developing vision, strategy, success measures and seeing them through to successful execution. Frequent and clear communication of these to the team and stakeholders. Very strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, and ability to deliver difficult/challenging messages. Ability to quickly cut through detail and focus on what is important, being decisive and accountable.
