About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Automated Test Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a scalable automated testing capability for Salesforce environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on QA Automation professional who has previously built an automation framework from the ground up, including selecting and configuring testing platforms, establishing standards, creating reusable components, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

You will work closely with Salesforce Developers, Administrators, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and DevOps teams to transition from predominantly manual testing to a mature, reliable, and highly automated testing environment.

About the Client

You will be working with a technology-driven organisation that relies on Salesforce and enterprise applications to support critical business operations. The organisation is focused on strengthening software quality, release confidence, and delivery efficiency through modern testing and automation practices.

The team values technical excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement, and robust quality assurance practices, providing an opportunity to establish and shape a scalable Salesforce test automation capability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.

  • Develop automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
  • Build reusable automation components that can support multiple Salesforce applications and releases.
  • Identify opportunities to replace repetitive manual testing with reliable automation.
  • Establish effective processes for test data, environments, dependencies, and automation maintenance.

Salesforce Testing

  • Develop and execute automated tests across Salesforce functionality including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Flows, Lightning Web Components, Apex, validation rules, approval processes, reports, dashboards, and custom applications.
  • Validate Salesforce APIs, integrations, third-party applications, and connected business systems.
  • Develop automated regression suites to ensure configuration and release changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.

Test Platform Implementation

  • Take ownership of establishing the organisation's automated testing environment.
  • Configure automation platforms, repositories, test-suite structures, access controls, and reusable test libraries.
  • Establish test-data management processes and automation workflows.
  • Integrate automated testing into development and deployment processes.
  • Implement reporting and dashboards to provide visibility into test outcomes and quality metrics.
  • Document the automation framework and train team members on the testing platform and processes.

TestRail & Tricentis

  • Establish TestRail projects, repositories, test-case structures, and regression suites where applicable.
  • Integrate automated test execution results with TestRail.
  • Develop and maintain Tosca modules, test cases, execution lists, and distributed execution where applicable.
  • Support test-data management, regression testing, API testing, reporting, and CI/CD integration.

API & Integration Testing

  • Develop automated tests for Salesforce APIs and external integrations.
  • Validate REST and SOAP API functionality and data integrity.

  • Establish automated quality gates based on test results.
  • Support Salesforce sandbox and environment management.
  • Ensure regression testing is incorporated into deployment processes.
  • Develop test strategies, plans, scenarios, and cases based on business and technical requirements.
  • Identify coverage gaps and continuously improve overall test coverage and quality.

Defect Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, document, and manage software defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting technical evidence.
