Railway Board Vacancy 2026: Managing Director NHSRCL Recruitment Notification

New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways, Government of India, through the Railway Board, has issued Vacancy Notice No. 22/2026 inviting applications for the post of Managing Director in the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL). The organization is responsible for implementing India’s high-speed rail projects and plays a key role in developing modern railway infrastructure in the country.

The post of Managing Director is to be filled on a deputation or absorption basis from eligible officers working in the Government of India, State Governments, Central Public Sector Enterprises, Metro Rail Corporations, or Government Joint Venture Rail Companies.

The position is located in New Delhi and carries a tenure of five years or until superannuation, whichever is earlier.

Applicants must be Engineering Graduates from a recognized university with a good academic record. Candidates should have at least ten years of experience in Railway or Metro sectors at middle or senior management level, equivalent to JAG and above. Experience in large infrastructure project execution will be considered an added advantage.

Eligibility is open to senior officers holding Level 15 (7th CPC) or equivalent positions in Government or CPSEs, including Directors or higher ranks in Schedule ‘A’ CPSEs. Officers from Metro Rail Corporations or Joint Venture Rail Companies holding equivalent senior positions are also eligible to apply.

The selected candidate will be placed in the pay scale of ₹2,00,000 to ₹3,70,000 (IDA revised scale) on absorption basis, which is equivalent to CMD/MD level in Schedule ‘A’ CPSEs. For deputation candidates, pay and allowances will be governed as per parent organization rules.

The maximum age limit for applicants is 57 years as on the closing date of application. However, candidates with significant experience in high-speed rail projects may be considered even beyond this age limit.

The Managing Director will be responsible for overall leadership of NHSRCL, including planning, execution, and monitoring of high-speed rail projects. The role also involves strategic decision-making, financial management, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring timely completion of infrastructure projects.

Selection will be carried out by a Search-cum-Selection Committee constituted by the Government of India. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview, and final selection will be based on merit and suitability for the post.

The last date for receipt of applications is 11 June 2026 up to 17:30 hours. Applications received after the due date or incomplete applications will not be considered.
