Defence Reimagined is building a serious knowledge and media platform at the intersection of national security, geopolitics, publishing, public policy, military affairs and strategic thought.

Through books, conversations, podcasts, policy dialogues and editorial projects, we work to make complex ideas accessible, relevant and meaningful for a wider public audience.

We are looking for a Publishing Assistant who can support our editorial, research and publishing workflows.

This role is ideal for someone who is organised, curious, detail-oriented and interested in ideas, books, current affairs, defence, geopolitics and storytelling.

Role responsibilities:

  • Support manuscript coordination, editorial tracking and production timelines
  • Assist with research for upcoming books, authors, contributors and themes
  • Help prepare briefs, reports, presentations and internal documents
  • Support proofreading, formatting, text editing and consistency with house style
  • Maintain organised records, databases and publishing trackers
  • Coordinate with authors, editors, designers, vendors and external partners
  • Assist with scheduling, correspondence and day-to-day administrative work
  • Support Defence Reimagined’s larger content ecosystem, including books, podcasts, events and thought leadership initiatives

Who we are looking for:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good command over English
  • Ability to work with detail, structure and deadlines
  • Basic proofreading, editing and document formatting skills
  • Comfort with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and collaborative work tools
  • Interest in publishing, research, current affairs, defence, geopolitics and public ideas
  • Bachelor’s degree in Literature, Journalism, Communications, Humanities, Political Science, International Relations or a related field preferred
  • Prior publishing, editorial, research or administrative experience will be an advantage

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to learn how serious publishing, editorial development and strategic communications work from the inside.
