About the Position

The candidate needs to research product and trade regulations in India and develop and implement related compliance actions.

This position requires in-depth legal research into a variety of complex regulations and advising legal and business teams on your findings and proposed actions. It will involve providing written legal guidance and independent counselling of business teams.

  • Deal with a broad range product compliance laws.
  • Work independently with various global, operational, business, and programming teams, serving as the legal point of contact for development and launch of key compliance-related solutions for Amazon.in website.
  • Be responsible for providing day-to-day legal support, resolving product compliance issues and close loop with internal and external stakeholders on product compliance matters.
  • The role will be a part of Amazon’s legal team and involve both independent and team work in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing.
  • Need great judgment in ambiguous situations, practical risk calibration, and a desire to learn and be curious.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of prior work experience in a professional setting with a degree in law
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects
  • Experience in dealing with broad range of product compliance issues, including all laws and regulations relating to product compliance.
  • Willingness to review a wide range of products from both legal and cultural standpoints in order to make recommendations about whether they should be offered on websites in India.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior work experience with a law firm, corporate legal department, or government agency
  • Prior experience in regulatory compliance
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
