The role is the senior design hand — the one who takes the strategy lead's direction and ships the version a client signs off on. Experienced designers who can hold a design system across formats, defend visual choices under pressure, and mentor junior designers should read to the end.

What you will actually do:

  • Hold visual authority on live engagements end-to-end — the version that ships to the client passes your eye before anyone else’s
  • Own the engagement design system: tokens, components, type, color, and the asset library the whole engagement draws from
  • Defend design choices in client review — the senior seat is the visual authority, and the defense is part of the craft

Skills that matter: Engineering literacy, Editorial collaboration, Brand systems, Performance awareness, Responsive adaptation, Interaction states.

Tools you will use: Asana + Loom for design ops, with the lead reviewing the file-share thread daily, Brand asset libraries, Webflow for high-fidelity prototypes when the engagement calls for stakeholder review before commit, Lottie for motion export that does not break the site performance budget.
