General Manager (Remote & Female only)

Role & responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the foundation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure the successful execution of all programs and projects.
  • Supervise and manage a team of 20+ employees, interns, and volunteers.
  • Develop work plans, assign responsibilities, and monitor team performance.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, performance reviews, and provide coaching and guidance.
  • Monitor employee attendance, leave records, and coordinate monthly payroll with the accounts team.
  • Ensure timely implementation of organizational policies, SOPs, and operational processes.
  • Track project progress, budgets, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate with the Managing Trustee to translate organizational goals into actionable plans.
  • Prepare operational, project, and performance reports for senior management and trustees.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, donor, and organizational requirements.
  • Coordinate with government departments, CSR partners, donors, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage office administration, resource allocation, procurement, and vendor coordination.
  • Represent the foundation in meetings, events, and official engagements when required.
  • Ensure confidentiality, accountability, and adherence to the foundations mission and values.

Preferred candidate profile

  • MBA in Operations, Human Resources, Project Management, or General Management (Mandatory).
  • 3–5 years of experience in operations, program management, or organizational leadership.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing teams of 10 or more employees.
  • Experience in NGOs, CSR projects, education, healthcare, rural development, or the social sector is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and project management tools.
  • Experience in payroll coordination, attendance management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure, solve problems proactively, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel across India as required for program implementation and monitoring.
  • High integrity, professionalism, accountability, and commitment to social impact.
