Creative Writer for Malayalam Film & OTT Projects

We are seeking a creative writer for ongoing Malayalam film and OTT projects on a monthly retainer basis. The role involves developing engaging scripts, refining storylines, and collaborating with directors and producers to shape compelling narratives. You should be comfortable working on a variety of projects, including films and web series, and be able to deliver high-quality content consistently. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who can contribute creatively and professionally to storytelling efforts.

What you'll do:

Brainstorm plot ideas, twists, and story directions in regular working sessions

Develop loglines, synopses, beat sheets, and episode outlines

Build out characters, backstories, and relationships

Write and revise scenes, sequences, and dialogue

Give honest, constructive feedback on structure, pacing, and character arcs

Research settings, procedures, or themes as the stories require

What I'm looking for:

Proven experience in screenwriting or long-form fiction, with thrillers or crime drama a strong plus

Solid grasp of screenplay structure for both features and episodic series

Fluency in Malayalam (reading and writing) and a good feel for Kerala's culture and settings; strong English is also needed for notes and discussion

Familiarity with screenwriting software (Final Draft, Fade In, WriterDuet, or similar)

Comfort with dark and psychologically complex material

Reliability, good communication, and the ability to take feedback and give it back
